Elementary Team Bios
Katrina Krive – Elementary Coordinator
I have been attending Grace South Bay for two years with my husband, Aaron, and two children, Eliana (3) and Joshua (2). I have eighteen years of experience working with students from PreK – 12 through church ministries, private tutoring, and school. I enjoy home making, handicrafts, library trips, baking, gardening, and reading with my kids.
Bex Ballinger – Elementary Assistant Coordinator
My family and I moved to the Bay Area from London U.K. almost two years ago now. We arrived as a four: my husband Dom, Sophie-Jayne (5) and Joshua (3) and shortly became a five with Teddy (18months). We are very grateful for the way in which Grace embraced and supported us through our cross continent move and arrival of our third child.
I am U.K. trained in Secondary Education which combines Middle and High school and taught English Literature and Drama for nine years in an all girls Christian school in South London. I also served in the children’s ministry in our church in Tooting, London, for many years, teaching all ages from 3 – 11yrs old. As well as teaching, sports are a real passion of mine. Dom and I met playing field hockey at university. I now really enjoy running and am doing my first marathon this coming Sunday in San Francisco!
Debby Chang – Elementary Facilitator & Curriculum
I have been at Grace for 2 years and involved with elementary children’s ministry for the past 7 years as a small group leader, story teller and classroom assistant. I think children are amazing, and some of my most spiritually inspiring moments have come from listening to them talk about God. After graduating from Stanford University, I spent 11 years in the tech space working in operations and client services. I’m now writing a young adult novel and partnering with Compassion Cafe to serve meals to San Jose’s unhoused community. I’m excited to be modifying the Orange curriculum for Grace South Bay’s needs, preparing craft materials for the lesson plans and continuing to assist on Sunday mornings.
