Join our Tuesday Evening Zoom Bible Study this semester as we study REVELATION!
We will study Revelation because we hope to be able to preach through it in the coming years, and this would be good preparation. Also, as you know there are many ways of reading Revelation and in seemingly every generation there are people claiming to know what all the signs and symbols mean and how they map perfectly onto current events.
You might guess that this is not what we will conclude as we thoughtfully work through the book. It is a difficult book. It is the only book that Calvin did not write a commentary for. Luther encouraged people to avoid it. However, it would be irresponsible of us to ignore it since the Spirit led the Church to consider it canonical and authoritative. The Bible would be incomplete without Revelation.
This is the main message of Revelation: Jesus the Lion/Lamb will complete his victory over evil by vindicating and glorifying his Bride, the Church. Our role is to worship Him and bear witness to who He is as we faithfully endure the world’s temptations and persecutions, even to the point of death.
