Join us as a volunteer to help Grace South Bay host a pre-Thanksgiving event (Wed night) with a catered holiday dinner and games for Evans Lane families in a time of celebration, community building and welcome to the neighborhood. Evans Lane in San Jose is a newly opened PATH site with wraparound services for recently homeless parents and their kids and teens. They support them with private residential tiny homes and services, with the goal of transitioning them to permanent housing within 4 months.
The event will take place in an outdoor, communal picnic table area in the middle of Evans Lane (about 10 minutes southeast of church) and we will be serving ~60 residents. Kids are welcome to come volunteer too with an adult present. Masks and temperature checks will be required.
Volunteers will be asked to help with setup/takedown, serving food, and/or running simple family-oriented fun activities (charades, bingo, etc)
Upon registration with Grace’s event, you’ll be sent an email with additional links to complete your registration with PATH. To volunteer with this at-risk community and to help ensure the safety of their children, PATH is asking for: 1) volunteer waivers 2) a background check for adults 3) a recent (in 2021) TB test from everyone volunteering including children. Let Debby know if you have any questions! We appreciate you going through these steps as it sets you up as a cleared volunteer for future events hosted by PATH and Grace SB.
